Exodus 2:23-25; Galatians 3:15-18
Abraham had a covenant with God. God told him to sacrifice his son and he wanted to do that, but God said, “… For now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.” [Genesis 22:12]
Going forward, God swore to Abraham, “That in blessing I will bless thee … and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.” [Genesis 22:17]
It is worthy of note that the seed (children and generations) of Abraham experienced the general dimension of the covenant, but Abraham experienced a special dimension of the covenant.
